43 and no Style direction?

Is 43 too old to admit that you haven't nailed down a personal Style yet?

Well, if it is...too bad!! Lol!!!

But...that may be over...I have found my muse as it were...Caroline Joy-Rector of Un-Fancy fame (Un-Fancy.com). I love her simple and irreverent style, and at 30ish, has me beat downpat at nailing her basic style uniform.

M.I.A.

Hello Lovelies!!!!

I am sorry that I have been missing in action these last few days but I had a rather busy week last week and it felt too overwhelming to add a blog post on top of it all!!

In the spirit of keeping my life more simple, I decided to put off writing a blog post until now when it wouldn't feel like an OBLIGATION, and I could write from the heart.

I have been keeping up with my letting go challenge...and, well, I have mixed feelings about it. I feel good when I can donate something to someone who will be happy to get it, but throwing away old magazines so far has been underwhelming, Lol!! Most likely because I have soooooo many!! Minimizing my life has been, not hard really, but not as great as I was expecting...perhaps my expectations are too high, Lol!!!

Anyway, will be back to regular posts once I am done this test tonight!!

Always your friend,

Nanci-jean.

Monday 16 January 2017

I only made it through 3 days of a 10 day capsule wardrobe challenge...one reason is that I didn't feel like going out and so did not feel like getting dressed. Another reason is that an unexpected event came up which caused me to change my outfit selection...a job interview!! So, today I will commit to a 5x5 capsule challenge...I will post the pics next Monday as well as an evaluation of how I did. Always your friend, Nanci-jean

10 Things about me

Hey there!!

How was your weekend? Mine was actually pretty busy. Had a hair appointment and studied for my course on Saturday, and went to a hockey game and dinner with my hubby on Sunday evening. Most weekends are spent pretty much vegging out, lol.

I wanted to tell you a little bit more about myself so I thought I would tell you ten things about me...

1. I am 43 years young.
2. I am obsessed with capsule wardrobes.
3. I wish I was more fashionable than I am.
4. I am mildly over-weight.
5. I love cheese far too much.
6. I love wine, probably far too much, Lol.
7. I am a proud Canadian.
8. I am still in love with my husband after 15.5 years of marriage, and 24.5 years together.
9. I am working towards living a simpler life.
10. I am fascinated with Tiny House living.

I would love to learn about you too...it doesn't have to be 10 things, but tell me about yourself!!

Always your friend,

Nanci-jean.

I would like to re-introduce myself

Hello!!

I have tried a couple of blogs in the past and had not found my stride with them...I am hoping that this one will be different. I am actually revamping this blog rather than starting over entirely.

My goal with this blog is to share my journey to a more simple way of life, as well as, a more spiritual way of living. I hope that you will want to join me in creating a more simple and relaxed way of travelling this journey called life.

One of the ways in which I am designing a simpler life is by getting rid of clutter...I know, I know, isn't everyone doing that? Don't worry, I am not here to sell yet another decluttering e-Book, at least not yet, lol!! I have committed myself to getting rid of at least one thing each day for the next 362 days (already 3 days in). So far I have gifted clothes I am not wearing (to my mom), thrown out broken ornaments and old candy canes that I used to decorate the tree, as well as, a book that was in poor shape that I would not donate for that reason. Not sure what I am going to get rid of today.

On the spiritual end, I will post inspirational quotes and stories that I love and want to share with you about selflove, loving our neighbour, and how we are all part of the same race...the Human Race.

Come along with me as I strive towards a simpler, relaxed and spiritual life!!

Always your friend,

Nanci-jean!!

Procrastination

In her article for ElephantJournal.com, Michelle Margaret Fajkus lists 18 behaviours that we should let go of in order to find, or create, more peace in our lives. The first one is to let go of procrastination.

I have to admit that this one will be a bit tough for me...although I don't like to think of what I do as procrastination, but to be honest with you, and especially myself, IT IS!!

"Procrastination is based in fear: of failure, of success, of sharing our stories, of what other people will think. Let go of these fears and take action. Just do it. All we have is now. Quit procrastinating" (M.M. Fajkus, "18 Fantastic Ways of Letting Go", ElephantJournal.com, June 4, 2014).

I think fear of failure is a big one...but so is fear of success...the underlying fear in the fear of success, I think, is how our life is going to change. Change can be scary, but it can also be wonderful, refreshing, breathtaking, and a fantastic catalyst to a life better lived.

If we fear change, then we live a life constantly afraid...change is inevitable and imminent...it happens all day, everyday!! Embracing change is actually soooooo much easier than fighting it.

Always your friend,
