February Highlights

Hello Lovelies!!

So February is almost over already!! Wait! Didn't 2017 just start?? Crazy!!

February Highlights:

1) New contract
2) New watch
3) New boots

1) February turned out to be great month for me...I got another contract with my former employer and hoping to make myself a permanent fixture there soon!!

2) I started my journey towards purchasing more eco-and ethical clothing/accessories and discovered two great ethical/sustainable merchants in the process. I bought a beautiful Zebra Wood Watch from TreeHut.Co. The company operates out of San Fransisco so had to pay the USD-CAD conversion but it was still affordable  ($134 USD - $181 CAD) for a watch I will wear for A LOOOOOONG TIME!!

Isn't it beautiful?!! I can't wait to get mine and show it "in person"!!

3) Another merchant I discovered is Oliberte out of Quebec. I bought a cool pair of Chelsea style boots and a pair of moccasin style boots for about the price of one pair (they were 50% off each).

I bought these for $83 CAD (now $105, still not bad).

I bought these for $85 CAD (now $170, sorry, back to regular price).

I am also sorry for the blurred images, they didn't expand well, but you get the idea...when they come in, of course I will do the un-veiling post, lol!!!

I researched ethical underwear and I was either not happy with the look (looked like old lady diaper panties), or the price ($20-$40 dollars each!!!). So for now, I will have to be happy with purchasing cotton undies from Hanes or Fruit of the Loom.

Well that is it for February!! See you in March my friends!!

Always,

NJ

V-day!

Hello lovelies! Valentine's day has come and gone and we have all survived just fine, lol!! What did you do? Did you treat yourself? Spend it with a loved one, significant other, etc.? Hubby and I celebrated V-day on the Saturday prior as he had to go out of town that day. What I wore:
On V-day itself, I lounged around in my jammies and watched a Meg Ryan movie marathon which consisted of "Addicted to Love" with Matthew Broderick as the love interest; "French Kiss" with Timothy Hutton as the cad who broke her heart and Kevin Klein as the French thief who stole it; "When Harry Met Sally" with Billy Chrystal as her love interest; and finally, "You've Got Mail" with Greg Kinnear as her unwitting boyfriend, and Tom Hanks as the cad who runs her out of business, but eventually wins her over, and, eventually, her heart. Ahhhhhh I made myself some popcorn and drank some red wine, and let me tell you...it was a great night!! So, I am blessed to have been able to have the best of both worlds...a date with my hubby before V-day and a date with Meg Ryan on the day of...oh okay...not a real date as I was pretty much the third wheel, Lol!!! Always your friend, NJ

My Wallpaper for the month of love!!

Hello lovelies!! As you may already know, I love Valentine's day!! Unfortunately for me, hubster will be out of town...he's spending it with his Mom as she needs him right now. However, don't be too sad as we will be celebrating it this Saturday, and I can watch all the chick flicks I want, lol!!!
This is the image I have as my wallpaper for both my phone and computer...isn't it lovely? I am not much of a gardener, but I do love flowers!! Their beauty makes me believe in magic and miracles!! Oh, and by the way...I got the contract position...I tentatively start Monday!!! Wheeeeeeeee!!!! Always your friend, Nanci-jean.

An interview and a possible contract position...Oh My!!

Hello Lovelies!! It has been another busy week last week and this week is proving to be the same. I was blessed to be called in for an interview last Thursday afternoon. And now, I am blessed to have the possible opportunity to start another contract with my former employer with hopes of getting hired on permanently in the future!! What I wore to the Interview:
The suit is from an now defunct clothing company "Weekenders", and the blouse is from Banana Republic Fall 2016 collection (I do not use affiliate links). Unfortunately I cannot remember where I got the necklace, sorry. I like this outfit as it is professional, yet comfortable. The only drawback is that I get quite warm wearing it as the suit is made from polyester. Right now, my version of an ethical wardrobe is using what I already have in my closet. I am currently working on downsizing my overstuffed closet and I think that this suit may make the final cut. I will keep you posted about the contract opportunity. Always your friend, Nanci-jean.

A month to celebrate Love...

Happy February friends!!

Are you a fan of the V-day? I am! Even if you are single, you can still celebrate by loving yourself!!!

Pour a glass of wine and watch your favourite movie(s) and celebrate YOU!!!

Now to reflect on January...it was a roller coaster of a month...

Highs: Two job interviews and a few good workouts and dropping four inches overall.

Lows: No job action yet and a minor pity party to "celebrate" Lol!!

One thing I have been doing in between the sparse posts (sorry), is studying other blogs/ bloggers. I have also been reading about simplifying and minimizing my life...and managed to let go of at least 31 things in January alone.

I am obsessed with Capsule Wardrobes and put together one for February with Chocolate and wine colours and gold jewelry. I will post some pics of my outfits throughout the month.
I am still trying to define my style but I am drawn to classic pieces, but I also like to add a little flair...something funky and fun. Two bloggers that have the style I like are Caroline of Un-Fancy.com and Lee the Style Bee.

Anyhoo...just wanted to catch up with you and let you know what's been up with me.

Always your friend,

Nanci-jean.
